Recent changes to building regulations have emphasised the importance of using fire tested products.
The ArmouredSlate system was recently tested at the BRE where it achieved a BROOF(t4) classification.
The test and awarded fire rating has proven that our innovative application of GRP to enable low pitch slate roofing can be used on all applications, whilst providing the ultimate in lightweight and high-performance benefits.
The BROOF(t4) classification indicates the highest performance classification achievable by a roof construction when subjected to external fire exposure, in accordance with BS EN 13501-5. BROOF(t4) enables use right up to the boundary.
Testing our whole system has shown how the ArmouredSlate system compares with other products in a controlled environment, and provides peace of mind to a specifier or architect about the performance level of the products. As far as we are aware, ArmouredSlate is the only low pitch lightweight natural slate roofing system to have this classification.
The fire testing results accompany the outstanding weather resistance test results previously achieved on the ArmouredSlate system at the BRE.
